European Voluntary Service/ European Voluntary Corps

E.V.S.

The European Voluntary Service/The European Voluntary Corps is a program of the European Commission for all young people between 18 and 30 years without any condition of qualification. It gives a young person the possibility to do his voluntary service in a collective project in a country of Europe during a period of 2 to 12 months. The organisation profits from the engagement of a young person who is in general very motivated. During his service the volunteer discovers a country, a culture, a professional field, learns a language, meets other European volunteers.
The volunteer is not paid for his work but his travel and his stay are taken in charge. In the hosting organisation a tutor helps the volunteer whereas the sending organisation supports him during the preparation and in case of any problem during his voluntary service.
The EVS can be done in different fields: culture, environment, work with teenagers, old persons or disadvantaged children, fight against racism, against social exclusion…
